A New Chapter in God's Faithfulness

As the colors of fall remind us of the beauty of changing seasons, we are reminded of God’s continued faithfulness to our school. When we launched Classical Roots Christian School, our hearts were humble, knowing we had much to learn, and our hands were open to receive God’s blessings. We understood that the success of our school rested in His hands. The Lord has been incredibly gracious to CRCS as we watch it grow, welcome new families, deepen relationships with returning families, and witness our staff meeting needs even before we know to ask. This year, we have a new reason to give thanks: the launch of Logic School at CRCS.
At CRCS, students progress from Kindergarten through the Grammar Stage before advancing to Logic School in grades 7–8. Logic builds upon the skills developed during the Grammar years. In Kindergarten through grade 6, students are like sponges, learning to read, write, spell, and calculate. As they explore God’s Word and His world through science, history, literature, art, and music, they also build a rich foundation of knowledge through memorization.
In the Logic Stage, students learn to transform memorized facts into meaningful understanding. Just as young children eagerly absorb information, adolescents begin to hunger for reason and understanding. I know Columbus sailed the ocean blue in 1492—but why did it matter? Our Logic School gives students opportunities to ask questions, develop sound reasoning, and seek truth grounded in God’s Word as they revisit familiar stories, events, and concepts with greater depth and understanding.
Beyond academics, we seek to shepherd our Logic students in their personal and spiritual growth. Our goals for grades 7–8 include helping students take ownership of their schoolwork, develop greater independence in their at-home learning, manage their responsibilities and time wisely, and pursue excellence in both their personal and academic lives.
Although we hope students will become increasingly self-motivated, we recognize that parents and teachers remain essential guides during these formative years. The Logic Stage, therefore, requires a careful balance: students are given greater independence while continuing to receive the guidance, accountability, and encouragement they need from trusted authorities. Our prayer is that students will develop minds steeped in the Lord’s grace and truth, guided by parents and
teachers who faithfully walk with the Lord and submit to His Word in their own lives. Ultimately, one of the goals of education is to prepare students to walk faithfully and independently, equipped to make wise decisions long after they leave our care.
“And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man” (Luke 2:52).
Following Christ’s example, we pray that our Logic students will grow in wisdom and stature, developing in favor with God and those around them. Education is about more than acquiring knowledge or achieving academic success; it is also about cultivating wisdom and virtue. This is one reason CRCS embraces the classical model of education. Classical education reflects the biblical call to receive God’s Word, seek wisdom, pursue understanding, and grow in theknowledge and fear of the Lord (Proverbs 2:1–6).
The Logic Stage offers students increasing opportunities to practice diligence, perseverance, humility, and discernment as they grow in independence. As parents and teachers work together to nurture these qualities, we pray that our students will reap the lasting fruit of the seeds we faithfully sow.
As we reflect on this fall, we are grateful for the many ways God continues to provide for and guide CRCS. The launch of Logic School is another reminder that education is a long-term investment in the lives of our students. We are already seeing the fruit of this work as our students arrive with cheerful hearts, collaborate with one another, and demonstrate excellence in
their academics.
We eagerly anticipate the expansion of Logic School next year as our current students advance into eighth grade. We look forward to seeing how God continues to use this new chapter to
cultivate wisdom, strengthen character, and prepare our students to serve Him faithfully.
Thank You, Lord, for the students who are pioneering this new chapter of Logic School at CRCS! And thank you, parents, for entrusting us with the opportunity to continue investing in your children during these formative years. What a privilege it is to partner in the work God has
called us to do!
